Newsletter No.4

After the plethora of events in May and June, the American Society took a well-earned break in July and is now pleased to announce several events in the coming months:

An art exhibition in black and white accompanies this event. The artist, Peter Palashevsky, presents us with a unique view of the world of contemporary art: a landscape of intellect, money, glamour, and commerce that raises questions about value, meaning, memory and fame.

2) Panel Discussion: Can Brazilian politicians pull Brazil out of its economic and political crisis? If not, what's the solution?

Peter Prengaman, Director, Associated Press

Mac Margolis, Bloomberg View

Vinod Sreeharsha, Freelance Foreign Correspondent

Moderated by Julia Michaels, Bilingual Blogger and Author.

Date: Thursday, August 17th, 7-9 pm

Location: Sociedade Germania, Rua Antenor Rangel, 210, Gávea.

Listen to foreign journalists present their views on how to resolve the current crisis and join the discussion. Visit the Sociedade Germania bar and restaurant before or after.
